Dr NG Siu Kuen
Dr. Robert NG was a former scholarship rowing athlete and had represented Hong Kong to participate in international competitions such as World Rowing Championships, Asian Games and Asian Rowing Championships. He was named the best scholarship rowing athlete (1990/91).
He obtained his teacher certificate from the Northcote College of Education, a BEd (First Class Honours) and an MSc (Distinction) from Liverpool University, and a PhD from the University of Hull (UK). He holds professional qualifications in fitness and sports medicine such as Health Fitness Specialist (ACSM), Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), Resistance Training Instructor (HKPFA).
Before joining CUHK in August 2012 as a lecturer in the Physical Education Unit, Dr. NG worked as Associate Physical Education Officer at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He was also a visiting lecturer at the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China, HKU SPACE, PolyU HKCC and HKPFA. He led students to participate in various exchange programmes and international competitions such as World University Squash Championship, All China University Track and Field Championships, invitational rowing competitions in China and Japan, and has taught and led general education courses and leadership training camps in PolyU. He also received the Outstanding Coaching Award (2002, 2003, 2006, 2007, 2009–2012) and the Champion Team Coach Award (2007–2012) from PolyU.
He is currently the coach of Athletics team and the CWChu College PE co-ordinator. He also teaches required Physical Education courses.
