‘Self and the Significant Others’ Scheme

This Scheme has been introduced since the academic year 2023–24, strives to promote communication and cultural exchange among our students and their important companions.

Who are my significant others?
• Any CWC student from a different year, major, or who speaks a different native language;
• Any relative (e.g., cousin) or immediate family member (e.g., grandparent) who is not a CWC student; or
• Any CUHK student from a different college.

Students and their significant others are invited to participate in any non-CWC organized cultural activity during term time. By joining ONE cultural activity together and recording it through the online form (https://cloud.itsc.cuhk.edu.hk/webform/view.php?id=13736593) by the last day of term, TWO attendance records will be granted after review.

See below the illustrative examples for reference.

Example 1 – A CWC student with an incoming exchange student

Student A joined a local tour with his roommate (incoming exchange student). After taking photos for proof and submitting the online form, student A earns two attendance records straight away upon review.

Example 2 – A CWC student with a student from another college; applied for one-off activity subsidy

Student B watched a movie with her CUHK friend (non-CWC). After submitting

online form with photo proofs and applying for an one-off subsidy, student B earns two attendance records and has her movie ticket reimbursed upon review.

Example 3 – Two CWC students

Student C joined a concert with his CWC friend, student D (in other major). Both submitted online forms with photo proofs and earned two attendance records each upon review.
