|I am delighted to extend my warmest welcome to all students of CW Chu College in a new academic year. Whether you are returning, first-year, or incoming exchange students, you will make a fruitful and memorable journey in this big family with our pastoral care, support and whole-person education.
In this close-knit community of around 300 students, your College life will be seasoned with camaraderie, daily encounters with cultural diversity, a range of non-formal learning opportunities and engagement with society. My colleagues and I are devoted to steering the College towards its vision by creating a congenial community that is characterised by four elements—Intimate, International, Intellectual and Involved, and where we hope that you can explore possibilities and develop your potentials to the fullest.
The College has also been fostering your personal commitment and promoting the spirit of self-governance in maintaining your own integrity. You will pledge to abide by the Honour Code, after which you will take primary responsibility for managing it and dealing with any behaviour that is inconsistent with it with the help of fellow students.
As members of this relatively young College, while you will follow/ are following some traditions cultivated by the previous cohorts, you are most welcome to develop College culture and atmosphere with your own creativity and initiatives. Please make your own history in CWC and shape its future!
I look forward to knowing each of you in person and hearing your thoughts about anything. I wish you all the best in your University and College life.
