Dr. LO Wai Shun 勞維信

Waishun LO obtained his BSc and MPhil in physics from CUHK, a PhD from Brown University, and has executive management training from INSEAD.

He has over 20 years experience in the telecommunications, technology, and software industries.  He helps clients (mostly private equity and startups) create and implement strategies in the mobile content, payment, digital media, Web 2.0, IP Commercialization and Innovation areas.

His previous experience includes positions with Bell Labs, Cable & Wireless Innovation, HK Telecom, and S Venture, an early-stage investment company.  He had served on the Board of two listed companies in HK.  He has also served for many years on the panel of assessors of the Small Entrepreneurs Research Assistance Programme of the HK Innovation and Technology Commission, and as a Director of the Young Entrepreneurs Development Council.  Recently, he has been consulting for a private equity firm and incubating several startups in HK and on the Mainland.

Waishun was a Senior Researcher at Harvard Business School’s Asia-Pacific Research Center.  He teaches Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the EMBA and MSc programmes at CUHK, and is an Adjunct Associate Professor.  He is deeply knowledgeable about social and economic developments in HK and the Mainland.  His expertise and current interests include intellectual property, business models, technology transfer and commercialization, and innovation.
