Ms. Alice NGAN 顏文慧

Ms Ngan has a rich and broad experience in fine art, the academia, manufacturing, trading, telecommunications and entertainment industries as well as the legal profession, experience that is unique and useful in any organizations that need to deal with a broad range of stakeholders.

After a life time of managing intellectual properties and technology transfer, Ms Ngan picked up her teenage hobby of painting.   In addition to private lessons with renowned artists, she enhanced her knowledge in fine art through The School of Continuing and Professional Studies of The Chinese University of Hong Kong (“CUHK”).   She was awarded a Diploma in New Ink Art by CUHK.  Her colorful and vibrant work has been enthusiastically collected by art lovers. Alice graduated as an Ivey Scholar with an Executive MBA degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business of The University of Western Ontario.  She received her Bachelor degree in Life Sciences from Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada.

Ms Ngan is the Chairman of Serendipity, a Hong Kong Government approved charity which she established in 2016 to contribute to society through art. She was a Chairman of the Licensing Executives Society (LES) China – Hong Kong Sub-Chapter and a member of the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM).  She was invited to give talks in many local and international conferences as well as brief official delegations from China and other countries on technology transfer and intellectual property management issues.

She was among the first group of managers in Hong Kong who managed intellectual property when she was with the Golden Harvest Group.  She was able to fully utilize her expertise and experience when she joined CUHK.  During her tenure with CUHK, she has successfully developed and structured research administration and related budgetary control for effective management of research.  She has also established CUHK’s pioneering role in technology transfer in Hong Kong and Asia with a strategic approach.

She started her career in the trading industry. She then managed the provision of electronic communications services for Cable & Wireless HKT.  Prior to joining CUHK, she was an executive with the Golden Harvest Group, an international entertainment corporation.  Her responsibilities included the administration of contract;  protection of intellectual properties of films; video and movie distribution.
