Ms Queenie CC Lam is a Senior  Scientific Officer of the Hong Kong Observatory in charge of the Training and Exercises Division. She obtained her Bachelor of Science and Master of Philosophy degrees from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, majoring in Physics. She joined the Observatory as a Scientific Officer in 1992 shortly after graduation. Over the years, she has gained experience in various fields including weather forecasting, numerical weather prediction, public and aviation weather services. She is a chartered meteorologist of the Royal Meteorological Society.

In the international arena, Ms Lam served as a Consultant to the Public Weather Services Program of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) in 2006. She has been serving as a Consultant to the Department of Nuclear Safety and Security of the International Atomic Energy Agency since 2014. Currently, she is also a member of the Expert Team on Education, Training and Competencies of the WMO Commission for Aeronautical Meteorology.
