My name is Sattar Kadir, and I am currently a full-time Ph.D. student in Electronic Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. I am originally from Bangladesh and completed my undergraduate studies in Mechanical and Automation Engineering at CUHK. CW Chu College has been at the center of my university life since my undergraduate years, and I am delighted to continue this journey as a Resident Tutor.
Through my involvement in college activities during my undergraduate years, I learned the importance of creating welcoming and inclusive spaces where students from different backgrounds feel respected and supported. These experiences shaped how I engage with others and deepened my appreciation for CW Chu College’s values of being intimate, international, intellectual, and involved.
Outside of my work, I enjoy cooking and exploring new cuisines, trying out new restaurants, travelling, going to the gym, watching movies and TV shows, and meeting new people to learn from their stories and cultures. I value simple conversations and shared experiences that help build genuine connections within the community.
I chose to become a Resident Tutor because I truly believe in giving back to the community that has given me so much. As a Resident Tutor, I hope to support residents both through organizing engaging hostel activities—such as cultural events, wellness activities, and casual social gatherings—and through everyday interactions in hostel life. I aim to be a friendly and approachable presence, especially for students who may be adjusting to university life or a new cultural environment.
Residents are always welcome to reach out to me via WhatsApp at +852 95743314 or to drop by in person at Room 339 for a chat, advice, or support—whether academic, personal, or cultural. I look forward to growing together with the CW Chu community and contributing to a warm, caring, and welcoming residential environment.
