Hi, I am Rachel XIE, a postdoctoral fellow in School of Life Sciences, CUHK. I received my PhD in Biology from CUHK in 2020. My research focuses on the developmental regulation and environment response in fungi and plants, and their applications in agriculture and food industry. The nature of my work plays with animals, plants, fungi, together with lab work, field work and computer codes, in most of the time. I hope that these efforts would deliver new knowledge and innovative products to safeguard global food security and sustainability.

Apart from academics, I wish I could build up more connections with different people, especially the younger generation. Becoming a resident tutor of CWC offers me an excellent chance. I am happy to meet and hear from you all. You are such a big crew of fascinating and energetic talents! I have learnt a lot from different people here, and I hope I can provide a good companion to you. I believe that together we can move further. Please don’t be shy to talk with me when you see me around. I am happy to offer any kind of support to you to the best I can. I will also host and participate in more activities. In addition, I have a broad range of hobbies, including hiking, photography, music and cooking. It would be fantastic if we can play together.
